The Dark Way

Throught the night, lightless forest
So fast, ground a blur, escape the day
For there is nowhere to find peace anymore
Through love, we find only the Dark Way

No longer dragon wing my wish
But steed, fast as the wind we ride
Through river deep an effortless gallop
You take me far, so far away

And though you saved me from a burning town,
I know we're riding into a storm
There is nothing I can do
BUt face these raging clouds of dark;
Let my tears become the rain

You understand
What it means to float
What it means to be carried away
In those rivers of emotion
And those storms of our feeling

I wish now I could ride with you
All I can do is let my ghost hold on tight
Are you just another demon soul, my dear?
Embrace me; and that which is different
And show me now the Dark Way...

Fully digital painting, Photoshop 7, approx 10 hours. No manipulation here, the only reference used was a photo of a horse to get an idea of the anatomy and the way the reins work. I have never painted a horse before....

I decided to submit this as a Work In Progress as I'm not completely happy with it yet, but I'd like to get an idea of people's opinions on it before I decide whether or not to fiddle with it. This is one of those images painted again using my patented 'emotion technology' (TM) where I basically just paint how I feel

I want to be able to paint images that make me go 'wow' when I look at them. I'm not there yet but here I tried, if somewhat prematurely given my skill level. I wished to capture something dynamic and beautiful, with a fleeting elated sense of motion to it. I hope at least for partial success. Blink and you'll miss it. I hope to paint images that take peoples breath away, that give an idea of how I feel inside. I shall continue on this quest....
