This picnic I see
By the river, at night
What brings them together
Now sets me far apart

I long to sit there,
Sip tea from delicate porcelain
Wind passes by
Their hair
All so close to perfection

Slide back into the tree
Branch silently
Unseen amongst the shifting of nature
Touch the silver leaves' edge

I see you amongst them
And yet I thought you were so alone
Do you feel me here
Watching?
My eyes upon you; darkest blue
Already ringed by the night
Even before the fall of dusk

Like always...must leave you be

I turn and float back to the lake
Quieten some following demons
Who wish for a soul feast this eve
I shall leave the blood in my vein this time
Too tired, too confused, to let anything go

I brought a basket too...

I shall make this my own
place of beauty
Without laughter, love or safety
Those only bring me fear and drain

Away, my confidence!

Now far from my intended settling,
Too dark to be seen:
My velvet, My longing.
Encircled by lace and silken comfort

Here alone and only may I become

Prettiest, amongst none.

Photoshop 7 from scratch. Approximately 20-30 hours although I'm really not sure about the time, I don't keep track any longer! Fairly happy with the result though. I think everything came together OK.

Basically the story goes (to avoid any confusion):

She was waiting for her partner.
He said he'd meet her; bring a picnic
He always said he'd be there
But soon the bright day gave way to night
And he never arrived

*EDIT* I fixed her stupidly long torso I just wonder if she looks a bit short now...hmmm, or is that just me.
