Sorrow for one and here I sit But no-one looks, and even fewer believe The sky burns red, incinerating me, and charring the landscape Apocalyptic sun vitrifies my thoughts Desires surface, dive, and hide amongst the Tunnels, cavities and vaults of my mind, as Feather tip fringes form tiny charcoal curlicue
Satin preened plumage now tattered, The vivid black white contrast Has no such defined border anymore. In this light, this neavy clinging air My irridescence fails to show Topaz, magenta, amber, jade, These are the colours - the shine - I used to know
Calls across rooftops, brown reflects crimson No answer from introverted Satellite dish rust and peeling grey paint Somewhere far from where I am, Ravens will enjoy A rich dark violet roost tonight But here the red is so intense, this final sunset The are no subtle hints of hope in such a sky
Vanishing prime disintegrates Powders down between houses Draining into some sociopathic vault. I dont see them come out from their pretentious solitude To scavenge on my scorched remains; bathe in the scarlet of my blood No guilty reflection of the sun on their saturated faces Every day; every door is locked, in this caged, taciturn society
This one is very rough for now, but I'm trying a slightly different painting style so excuse the unfinished nature of the piece. It needs a lot more detailing and colour-work.
I also haven't posted anything for a while so I thought I'd show that I haven't disappeared from the face of the earth!
This poem was written about 9 years ago, and is a slight return to the original, darker GF 'roots'. There may well be more to come.
Both the pic and the poem are beautiful. I like the idea of the feathers and the raven skull tied into her red hair. She's dressing with death. I'm looking foreward to the finished image!
It's lovely as always, I really missed to see a new work from you and it was worth to wait. I simply love it even if it's not finish. She's so different too and her face is so lovely. Of course the details are amazing. Beautiful hair..
