Why have I chosen this fearful path?
Placed here to become a perfect angel
I'm fleeing now to distant realms
Where I darken this heaven no more

Screaming under a sky of calm
Won't change the beauty of this dusk
Amidst ethereal evening glow
I'm fading gently from your arms

Just let me fall from here
Your tear; my vacant stare
Frosting windows unto my soul
Feeling nothing; floating away

I'm giving in to this departure
And as I disappear, still holding your rose
You pray our final embrace will help me remember
And banish hope's end forever

I wanted to do a different version of [link] with a bit more detail, and more emphasis on the wings.

Somehow, I never get bored of painting wings :P

Very beautiful, I especially like the chains (though personally I think the facial features could use more work - no offense)

I find the poem particularly touching because my dad passed away two days ago. It reminds me of him.

I write all the poems myself, although this one is one I wrote a while ago so you may well have seen it before!
