'Fog Lights'by *QuantumSuz

Am I lost, haunting this same road again?

Light cuts cones through fog surround,
Xenon dreams
Drive right through me
Thinking I follow, but I am afraid

Snowflakes fall silent in the dead of night
And I stalk without direction;
Enveloped by some velvet cloak
Pale and thin, barely existing

Wandering aimless where tears may freeze
The only way to stop them falling.
Burrow deeper; hide things where it is warm
Things which slowly drain my glow

I could knock myself down with my own delirium
I could lie and become the ice beneath me
I could drive off the edge in slow motion
I could see you again...

Try, but I never do see you through your self-carved halo

Though the light is burned into my vision forever

This piece has been ongoing for ages, so I can't tell you how long it took as I've been messing about with it on and off for the past 6 months or more. Digitally painted in Photoshop. I'm relatively happy with the results, but I do need to practice portraits a lot more.
