The second piece in the 'darkling hair' set. A commission for a friend who sells hair falls and dreads on the web. Her e-bay ID is scary_bex if anyone is interested in what she's got for sale at the moment. This piece is perhaps one of a series to go on her new website.

Fully digital painting, took about 10-12 hours in photoshop 7 from scratch. This one took a lot longer than the last one - mainly because the detail level is a lot higher.

I'm pretty pleased with the way this turned out, I think I got the sense of drama and movement into the image, which is so hard to capture in a painting. I'm also pleased with the way my painting of realistic skin tone is improving. Those familiar with my works will know what I mean! The only thing I'm not very happy about is the positioning and tilt of the head, it doesn't look right but it was so hard to paint and in the end I gave up trying to perfect it. The original sketch was a lot worse, trust me
