Artist's Comments

Speed painting from sketch - took about 2.5 hours in total including the sketching. That's why it's completely un-polished, although I am going through a bit of an 'artsey sketchy' phase at the moment, so I hope people don't mind that. Just to see what I can do in a couple of hours.

I did use a photo ref for this but I've no idea of the origin so if the girl looks familiar I apologise (It was a random Whitby WGW photo.)

The inspiration came from a feeling that sometimes you are just slipping away from reality, and the world around you seems to become slightly unreal. It's quite an unusual feeling, happens occasionally when I drink too much coffee and don't eat, listen to too much weird music, dress up in pretty gothic costumes, have very little contact with others and generally float around in my own strange world. OK that's probably too much information :)

I think it's good, considering when I draw something in a few hours it doesn't even look half as good as this.
