I haven't updated this journal since February. However, I feel that 2008 has been one of the most interesting years of my life so far. I have been to so many places and met so many new people, I really hope that this continues. I'm always busy and I need a holiday!!

Over the summer I attended lots of conferences and meetings for work. I'm now working as a full time research scientist, studying several areas, but I'm mainly interested in experimental realizations of quantum computers. I hope to realize my dream of one day helping to build and develop this type of machine. So far this year I've been to Amsterdam, Leiden, Jena, Ilmenau, Vancouver, Naples, and Edinburgh. I've never really travelled before so it's all been tremendously exciting and I have hundreds of photographs. I've also bought and read so many books in the past few months that I now have the nickname of "Physics Girl" in one of the city centre bookshops.

The first GothicFall art book is nearly finished now. It should be available early next year, I will post information when it becomes available!

I have got lots of new ideas for artwork for 2009. I'm hoping to spend a bit more time on traditional art (mainly pencil art) to explore some new style ideas.
